A small traditional Korean restaurant with a blue awning, displaying Korean text. The building has a tiled roof and is flanked by earthenware jars on the side. Three stools are placed outside for seating, creating a quaint street-side dining setup.

About born2bekorean

I grew up in Korea in the 1980s, and I’ve watched the country change in ways that would have been hard to imagine when I was a child.

Born2BeKorean is where I share those memories — along with the everyday realities of living in Korea today.

I remember a Korea before smartphones, high-speed internet, K-pop’s global success, and the modern Seoul the world knows today. I remember the neighborhoods, schools, family expectations, economic ups and downs, and ordinary moments that rarely make it into guidebooks.
